Last Thanksgiving, my mom and I went to my Aunt's house in Fort Worth, TX. They had this pie ready and waiting. We don't have buttermilk pie here in Colorado, and I'm pissed. It is so good! Healthy? Not in the least. But, frankly, who puts the words healthy and pie together?

WOW! That looks delicious. Buttermilk poundcake (the real kind from the South) is one of my favorites so I can only imagine how good this is...
au contraire...(ok I know I'm commenting on something 2 months old) but just thought I would tell you there is buttermilk pie in CO.
Not sure if you ever hang out in Manitou, but there is a little place there I've been going my whole life (literally, I'm pretty sure they still have the sassy seat I used to sit in) called the Dutch Kitchen. The owner/chef makes all the pies himself and one of his specialties is Buttermilk pie!
So if you're over that way check it out - just beware they have odd hours!
